Seeking New Spaces – Things To Watch out For

leadpaintSooner or later in this recession, if you haven’t still lost your job and gone home to your hometown, you would decide to get moving into a smaller space that better fits your ever shrinking budget. There are sure to be a lot of bargains out there but be wary of health risks that may come with them.
Old rooms and places are charming in their own way but lead paint danger is always a hazard. Peeling paint is always a sign of this so ask the owner to be honest if the area is lead free. Basements and lower ground rooms may have radon issues so ask the owner or get it tested if you suspect it. If you happen to live in areas which are prone to earthquakes and other extreme weather, look for a place where you can seek shelter in neighboring structures or has ample protection from such events. Being cheap doesn’t mean sacrificing safety so keep a balance between the two.
