Improve your Curb Appeal

Curb appeal is the impression potential buyers get when they first take a look at your house. Whether you are selling your house or not, it pays to have a great looking house without spending tons of dough. Below are a few tips to achieve a wonderful curb appeal before advertising your house:

  • You might want to do some repainting the exterior of your house using classic colors that are more or less the same or near to the colors of other houses within your community. Stamping too much of your personality in your house(like using daring colors) might not be appealing to potential buyers which could result to difficulty in selling it.
  • Washing and scrubbing the sidings of your house would be a good idea especially if it is made of vinyl, brick or stone.
  • Put a new colorful wreath and a “welcome” mat for your entrance. If your mailbox has already outlived its usefulness, change it.
  • Adorn your front door with an interesting potted plant and don’t forget to touch up your door too with a tasteful color of paint.
  • Check if your house number is clean and in place so buyers can easily spot your house. If not, you can buy a new one and further enhance the look of the front of your house.
  • Provide outdoor lighting in your driveway, sidewalk and near your front garden to give a different look to the house.
  • Touch up your porches, arbors and make the needed repairs to your driveway.

These changes might be very minimal but they have the desired effect – which is to make your house look inviting to potential buyers.
